Dr. Cerniglia is proud of the relationships and the respect he has earned in our community. He works almost exclusively from referrals from current patients, orthopedic surgeons, medical doctors, and athletic trainers and coaches.

  • Dr.
    Amanda Hodder

Dr. Amanda Hodder was born and raised in Niskayuna, NY. Growing up she attended Niskayuna High School where her interests in science and math were cultivated. As a teenager she saw the struggles that her mother and other family members had with back pain and was amazed at the results they would have with chiropractic care. This piqued her interest at a young age and became a key factor in her career decision.

While in college she decided that she wanted to pursue a profession that would not only help people feel better but help them achieve a healthy and active life. She went on to graduate from Ithaca College where she majored in Psychology and Pre-Med. After obtaining her Doctorate of Chiropractic Degree from New York Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls NY, she returned home in early 2011 and has been practicing in Scotia, NY since then.

Dr. Hodder enjoys helping people feel and function better and her goal in practice is to educate her patients and encourage them to take an active role in their health care. Through the use of manual manipulation and therapeutic modalities she is able to help her patients reach their goals. Her patients range in age, and she has experience adjusting everyone from newborns to seniors.

Constantly continuing her education and expanding her knowledge of patient care is a top priority for Dr. Amanda. She most recently became a Graston Technique provider. This soft tissue technique helps to detect and treat areas of 'scar tissue' or adhesions in muscles, tendons and ligaments that can be the cause of pain symptoms and inhibit full range of motion.

She has also become a certified ART (Active Release Technique) practitioner. This is another soft tissue modality that focuses on stretching the muscle tissue, enabling the adjustments to be more effective and longer lasting. Currently she is certified in the ART upper extremity technique and hopes to continue further certification in the future.

When she’s not in the office, Dr. Hodder spends her free time with her 4-year-old daughter and husband. They all enjoy staying active and being outdoors.

  • Dr.
    Michael Missenis

Dr. Michael Missenis was raised in Clifton Park, NY where he graduated from Shenendehowa High School. He received his doctorate of chiropractic from New York Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls, NY in 2015.

Dr. Missenis has experience playing several sports including baseball, basketball, football, and track. He utilizes his interest in sports and physical performance to fuel his continuous education and professional development. He has obtained an advanced certificate in sports science and human performance and is Active Release Technique (ART) certified. ART is a soft tissue therapy that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves by breaking down scar tissue and adhesions.

Dr. Missenis realizes that you cannot simply treat a patient's symptoms, but must treat that person as a whole being. This includes a thorough examination and frequent re-evaluation, proper and meticulous patient education, appropriate chiropractic treatments, and functional exercises. A patient's specific functional goals are always factored into the individualized plan of care.

Dr. Missenis has experience treating a variety of patient concerns in all areas of the body. He treats more complex concerns such as chronic pain and fibromyalgia and has a particular interest in working with athletes of all ages and skill levels.

In his free time, Dr. Missenis enjoys spending time with his wife, Jenny, and their pets, Joey and Daisy. They kayak, hike, and take long walks with their dog. Dr. Missenis also stays active by working out and playing sports.
